One of the reasons we love Omani frankincense (Boswellia sacra — Hojari) is because it’s not just “something that smells nice.” It’s versatile. It fits into real life. And it can turn a normal day into a calmer, more intentional one.
Below are 5 easy DIYs you can do at home using our Omani frankincense. These are simple, beginner-friendly, and designed to be used daily.
1) Frankincense “Calm Roll-On” (daily stress reset)
This is the easiest DIY and one of the most used in our home.
You’ll need:
-
10 mL roller bottle
-
Carrier oil (jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil)
-
Our Omani frankincense essential oil
Recipe:
-
Fill the roller bottle almost to the top with carrier oil
-
Add 3–5 drops frankincense
-
Cap, roll between hands to mix
How to use:
Roll onto wrists, chest, or back of the neck—especially before work, driving, or bedtime.

2) Frankincense “Glow Face Oil” (simple nighttime routine)
A clean, minimal DIY for anyone who wants an easy skin ritual without complicated steps.
You’ll need:
-
A small dropper bottle (or just mix in your palm each time)
-
A gentle face-friendly carrier oil (jojoba is a favorite)
Recipe (in a 30 mL bottle):
-
30 mL carrier oil
-
Add 6–9 drops frankincense (gentle daily dilution)
How to use:
After washing your face at night, apply 2–4 drops and press into skin. Avoid the eye area.

3) Frankincense Linen + Pillow Mist (fresh, calming, clean)
This one makes your bed feel like a reset. Light, clean, and calming.
You’ll need:
-
100 mL spray bottle
-
Distilled water
-
Optional: 1 tsp witch hazel (helps oil disperse a bit better)
-
Frankincense essential oil
Recipe:
-
Add water to the bottle
-
Add 1 tsp witch hazel (optional)
-
Add 8–12 drops frankincense
-
Shake well before every use
How to use:
Lightly mist pillows and linens (not soaking). Let it settle for a minute before laying down.
4) Frankincense Shower Steam (the easiest “spa moment”)
No diffuser needed. Just steam and aroma.
You’ll need:
-
A warm shower
-
A washcloth or shower corner ledge
How to do it:
-
Put 1–2 drops frankincense on a damp washcloth
-
Place it on the shower floor away from direct water flow
-
Let the steam carry the aroma
When to use:
Morning for focus, or evening to unwind.
5) Frankincense Resin Burner Ritual (traditional Omani style)
This is the classic way frankincense is enjoyed in Oman—and it’s beautiful.
You’ll need:
-
Frankincense resin (Hojari)
-
A charcoal disc (or electric incense burner)
-
A mabkhara/incense burner (or heat-safe bowl)
How to do it:
-
Heat the charcoal until it’s glowing (or turn on your electric burner)
-
Place a small piece of resin on top
-
Let the aroma fill the room
How to use:
Perfect for welcoming guests, resetting the home, or creating a peaceful atmosphere.
Tip: Start with a small piece. A little goes a long way with high-quality Hojari.
A simple weekly routine (if you want ideas)
-
Daily: Roll-on morning + night
-
2–3x/week: Pillow mist
-
1–2x/week: Shower steam
-
Weekends: Resin burner ritual when you clean the house or host friends
Final thought
Our goal is to make frankincense feel approachable—something you can actually use, not something that sits on a shelf.
If you try any of these DIYs, we’d love to hear which one becomes your favorite.
